LOGISTICS AND ACCOUNTING OFFICER

Assist Logistics Director in all aspects of freight; oversee critical logistical movements; data input, and cargo tracking

  • Invoice sales & sale related transaction documents
  • Prepare and generate purchase payment documents and weight reconciliations
  • Prepare and reconcile inventories in Progressive Software
  • Mail checks and file stubs and invoices in vendor files
  • Special projects as needed

Skills Required:

  • Proficient with MS Office, Cargo Wise and Quick books
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Experience:

  • High school diploma/College or University Degree

Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Business Equipment and Computer Applications: General office equipment, MS Word, Excel, Database software

Typing (Words Per Minute): 41 – 60 wpm

Area of Specialization: Reports, Forms and records, Correspondence

Specific Skills: Type and proofread correspondence, forms and other documents; Receive and forward telephone or electronic inquiries; Process incoming and outgoing mail manually or electronically; Send and receive messages; Perform basic bookkeeping tasks; Photocopy and collate documents for distribution; mailing and filing

CUSTOMS & TRADE COORDINATOR

Start Date: November 2017

Base Hourly Rate: $30 to $35 per hour

1 year assignment (renewable)

To implement various compliance projects such as internal audits, education/training, record keeping, product classification.

Prepare responses to inquiries of enforcement agencies as required.

Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and status.

  • Post-secondary education required – Business Diploma or Custom Broker license preferred
  • Must have CITT and/or CICB professional designation or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Customs and/or Traffic within the chemical manufacturing industry
  • 3 – 5 years experience in import/export compliance related roles
  • Knowledge of international trade and/or transportation laws, agreements, codes and regulations (Customs Tariff Act, Custom Act, WTO, NAFTA, US Custom Regulations, TDG, IATA, IOMDG, etc preferred)
