Specific Skills: Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment; Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products; Pick orders and stock; Weigh materials and goods; Make labels and attach to goods; Wrap goods; Pack and unpack goods; Sort goods; Stack goods; Store cargo and materials; Transport and distribute materials and goods; Handle dangerous goods and hazardous products; Operate computerized inventory control systems

PROJECT ENGINEER

Summary

  • The Project Engineer is responsible for developing, planning, defining and executing capital investment projects in a petrochemical facility.
  • The Project Engineer must ensure that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications).
  • He/she ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of groups (including all project contributors)
  • The Project Engineer is also responsible for managing the work of consultants, allocating and utilizing resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful project team.

Work Experience

  • 10+ years Petrochem preferred
  • Eng. (Professional Engineers of Ontario or equivalent) required

Job Duration

  • Successful candidate will be seconded to Project Engineering group with an expected 1 year job duration
  • Depending on performance this may be extended

Responsibilities

Projects – Production and Engineering Assignments

  • IT Production and Engineering projects assigned as available
  • Backfill Production and Engineering staff on production applications
  • Examples: OSIsoft PI, TrendMiner, Engineering applications

Support of North and South American IT Production and Engineering initiatives

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science
  • BA/BS Degree or IT Diploma or equivalent work experience

PRESSURE SAFETY AND PROCESS DESIGN ENGINEER

  • Senior Process Design Engineer for petrochemical site locate in Sarnia
  • One year contract position
  • Competitive salary, commensurate for position, based on qualifications/experience

Responsibilities

  • Independently undertake feasibility studies, conceptual / front end designs and detailed process designs
  • Generate process design reports and review findings w and obtain buy in from stakeholders
  • Lead safety and environmental reviews
  • Site pressure safety assessments (Flare and relief systems)
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Interact with vendors and evaluate bid packages

Work Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in process design in petrochemical / refining
  • Polymer / rubber manufacturing experience is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience working directly for manufacturing facility as employee or seconded
  • Site wide pressure safety assessment (lead role preferred)
  • New plant / major revamp design (lead role preferred)
  • Process simulation software (HYSYS / ASPEN / EDR / Fluid Flow)

Education / Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering minimum
  • Eng. (Professional Engineers of Ontario or equivalent) preferred

Skills

PIPING AND VESSEL MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Work Experience

  • 8+ years of experience involving design/maintenance of petrochemical process equipment and piping
  • Specifically, the design, fabrication, inspection, testing, maintenance, alteration and repair of pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers and tanks.
  • 5+ years of field engineering experience working onsite at manufacturing facility. Petrochemical / refining experience preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of the relevant industry codes/standards and applicable software calculation programs

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Eng. (Professional Engineers of Ontario or equivalent)

Technical Requirements

  • Interpretation and application of TSSA registration rules for pressure vessel/fitting design, alteration and repair
  • Calculations for stress/flexibility analysis, flanges, wind/seismic/occasional load, basic structural steel, design pressure and Fitness for Service assessments
  • Experience with material testing, treatment and selection (low temperature impact/NDE/hydro testing, heat treatment, corrosion prevention
  • Experience with material specification, selection and evaluation for piping/fittings/valves
